Even after 75 years of India’s independence, untouchability in Indian society is so prevalent that it hasn’t even left children. Recently in Gujarat’s Morbi’s government run school, students from Dominant OBC communities refused to eat mid-day meals after a Scheduled Caste cook, Dhara Makwana was appointed.
“As the students did not sit in a queue to get their food, I inquired with some parents, and they told me they could not allow their children to eat food cooked by a Dalit woman,” Dhara’s husband Gopi Malwana told Times of India.
