BSP’s Jaswant Singh Gurjar triumphs; Malinga faces defeat after alleged assault on Dalit Engineer

Girraj Singh, also known as “Malinga”, accused of assaulting assistant engineer from Dalit Community Harshadhipati Valmiki, has experienced defeat in the Vidhan Sabha elections from Bari constituency. Malinga, who switched allegiance from Congress to BJP, encountered a formidable challenge and lost by a considerable margin in the electoral battle. The allegations against him include the brutal attack on Harshadhipati Valmiki, a Dalit community member, amid concerns over a power cut in a village. Valmiki, an assistant engineer, suffered severe injuries, with twenty-two bones broken in the assault. In a contrasting outcome, BSP’s Jaswant Singh Gurjar emerged victorious in the Bari assembly, securing a win by a substantial margin of twenty-seven thousand four hundred twenty-four votes.
