Rajasthan: Dalit man abducted, brutally thrashed, beaten, forced to drink urine

Jaipur: A 25-year-old Dalit man was abducted, brutally thrashed and forced to drink urine by eight men from Jat community in Rajasthan’s Churu district.

A complaint was filed by Rakesh Meghwal on Thursday. He said one of the accused Umesh Jat, a resident of the same village, with seven other abducted him, forced him into a car and drove off to a field.

He also alleged that the men abused him using Casteist slurs and brutally beat him up with sticks. Thinking he was dead, they went.

Two of the accused have been arrested by the police 6 are yet to be arrested. The suspects have been booked under Sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 365 (abduction), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 have also been invoked.
