Amidst ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, in Rajasthan’s Jalore, a Scheduled Caste child Indra Meghwal was brutally beaten up by his caste Hindu teacher after he drank water from a pot.

Initially, the child’s one eye, shoulders, neck, ears, etc faced grave injuries. He was not even able to speak.

The child is now no more.

The atrocity was committed on July 20th and child was in hospital for 23 days. Yesterday he took his last breath.

The accused teacher was arrested by Rajasthan police only after the child’s death, not when the actual crime was committed.

Rajasthan police are putting a pressure on the victim’s family to cremate the body while the family is resisting. The family members also faced Lathi charged by the police. Similar series of events was seen last year in Hathras.
