In a disturbing incident in Uttar Pradesh on November 23, 2023, a teenage Dalit boy reportedly faced severe assault, forced consumption of urine, and had his eyebrows shaved by individuals in his village, situated under the jurisdiction of the Sujanganj police station.

Allegedly, two assailants have submitted a counter-complaint to the police, contending that the boy had sexually harassed a girl in their family. According to an IANS report, the victim’s father, in the complaint lodged with the police, stated that his son was returning home from the Aami area when a group of people intercepted him, subjecting him to a brutal assault. The complaint further outlined that the assailants forced him to consume Urine and soil, while also forcibly shaving off his eyebrows. The accused summoned the victim’s father to the scene and permitted him to take his son home, issuing a warning against reporting the incident to the police.

The victim’s father additionally claimed that he had approached the Sujanganj police on Thursday evening, but his complaint went unregistered. Consequently, he had to seek recourse with the Jaunpur SP to ensure proper acknowledgment of the grievous incident.
