Constitution Day: President Droupadi Murmu Unveils Statue Of Dr BR Ambedkar On Supreme Court Premises

On Sunday, November 26, President Droupadi Murmu, along with Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, led a significant event at the Supreme Court. They unveiled a big 7-foot-tall statue as a tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the founder of the Indian Constitution.

This happened on Constitution Day, and President Murmu took a moment to honor Dr. Ambedkar, recognising him not just as the main person behind the Constitution but also as the first Law Minister of independent India.

The impressive 7-foot statue is a symbol of legal and constitutional importance. It shows Dr. Ambedkar dressed as a lawyer, holding a copy of the Constitution in his left hand—a clear representation of his lasting impact and strong commitment to justice and equality.

Placed on a grand stand, the statue now stands in the front lawn and garden of the Supreme Court. This important statue is a constant reminder of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s huge contributions to the laws of our country and his unyielding dedication to making India a fair and equal democracy.
