Bengaluru: Three employees of a private hospital force Dalit employee to enter manhole, FIR registered under SC/ST Act

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident reported from Karnataka capital Bengaluru, three staffers of a private Hospital Chinmaya Mission Hospital (CMH) force a 53-year-old housekeeping staff to enter manhole and unclog the sewer.

Daivadeenam, 53, initially, refused to go down the sewer and clean it after his supervisor asked him to do so, afraid of losing his job he risked his life and entered the manhole.

Weeks later of this incident, he approached Samata Sainik Dal and a complaint was registered Halasuru police station.

The Complaint has been registered under Section 3(1)(j) of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act-1989 and Sections 7, 8, and 9 of the Prohibition of Manual Scavenging and Rehabilitation Act, 2013.
